Q: How many people work at DDC?
A: There are 4 full time and 3 part time employees here at DDC. All of our employees are adults with extensive knowledge of electronics and die-cast models. We are not kids tooling away in a basement trying to make a quick buck.
Q: Why are there rubber bands and not plastic straps on my model?
A: Good question, we have learned some valuable lessons when it comes to models. The plastic shipping straps are terrible to the models, they wear the paint down over time and the chemicals in the plastic tend to breakdown the paint and plastic on the model. Natural rubber rubberbands are the best by far at not causing any issues with the paint and hold just as good as the plastic ones.
Q: Can i give you guys a deposit and you hold a model for me?
A: Sorry no, if the model is already on the website it is now for sale and can not be held. Models can be held for you with a deposit if you chose a model off the upcoming models list before it becomes available on the website.
Q: Do you guys accept trades or entertain offers?
A: No, the prices we have are set by the owner and are not negotiable. We also can not take trades as we are a business not set up for trading.
Q: Why do you offer these in such limited numbers?
A: We do this to maintain our models exclusivity and value high. Instead of making the same agency or agency over & over again we do our best to offer agencies not typically seen in the custom model community. We number each model inside and on paper to make sure you know your holding a genuine DDC product. Crafted by professionals who care about offering you the best.
Q: Do you ship internationally, how much will it be?
A: Yes we do ship worldwide, please contact us through email your location and the model and item number of the model you want so we can send you a specific cost for shipping and/or a invoice to purchase.
Q: Do you guys sale your lighting kits or do you use someone elses?
A: No we do not use kits from other builders or sale premade kits. Each models lighting is now so specific and expertly wired that we build them to the needs of the model being built. All wiring is hidDen and all models come with a gaurantee backing up the work 100%.
Q: My package came today and the light or lights do not work, or my package came today and some parts came off. What do I do now?
A: We stress test every models lighting to insure they are in working order. Some packages have a hard ride with the postal service and take a good beating. We do not sale you broken or previously damaged items, why would we, this is the fault of the shipping carrier and your package is insured for the full price of the model. The cost of shipping the model to us is your responsibility and if the cause is found to be the cause of our mistake we will refund the shipping cost and pay to ship it back after repair. Please contact us within 24 hours of receiving the package and file a claim with the carrier.
Q: I came in from YouTube and did not see that particular model, where is it?
A: Those models are most likely sold already. We only make one of a particular agency unless otherwise noted and they usually do not last long on-site before they are sold out.
Q: Are these made for children?
A: While the model itself was intended from children once they have been custom lit with LEDs we recommend that these be adult handled. We do not recommend these for children under 12 and can not be held liable for damage sustained by mishandling.
Q: Where's the battery?
A: We have had issues with package damage from batteries being included in the model. We stopped offering free batteries but are looking into rescinding that idea this year.
Q: Could you tell me how much the shipping is to my location?
A: These days the cost of shipping varies in costs, from the package weight and size, to the locations distance. Our system is set up to determine those factors automatically also including the costs of insurance. When making multiple purchases the cost will be much higher, we refund all funds not associated to the actual shipping costs incurred.
Q: Will you be offering this or that model again?
A: We build in limited numbers so in most cases we will not rebuild more of a certain agency. If it is an unmarked or Chiefs/Detectives unit we may rebuild if the requests are made.
Q: What's with the police scanner?
A: We added a police scanner to our site to offer something a little different to our customers and site visitors many of which have messaged us telling us they love the scanner and spend a lot o time listening to it. We may offer more fun gadgets to our site this year.
